The sufi orders in india - The Sufi Order in  Ajmer Sharif Rajasthan India - sufi orders in islam

The sources of this power may be traced to his own exceptional endowments.

Throughout his life, he exhibited the noble traits of character so peculiar to the house of

Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) to which he belonged.

Kesküls (grant bowls) Bektashi dervishes. Dervishes used these bowls to accept charity, which was a process of overcoming personal

vanity and arrogance for dervishes in Sufi culture of the time. The traditional Sufi orders emphasise the role of Sufism within Islam.

Therefore, the Sharia (traditional Islamic law) and the Sunnah (customs of the Prophet) are seen as crucial for any Sufi aspirant.

Among the oldest and most well known of the Sufi orders are the

CHISHTY, QADIRI, Naqshbandi, Sarwariyya, Qadri Al-Muntahi,

Oveyssi, Shadhili, Jerrahi, Ashrafi, Bektashi, and Nimatullahi. One proof traditional orders assert is that almost all

the famous Sufi masters of the past Caliphates were also experts in Sharia and were renowned as people with great Iman (faith) and

excellent practice. Many were also Qadis (Sharia law judges) in courts. They held that Sufism was never distinct from Islam and to fully comprehend and practice Sufism one must be a practicing Muslim obeying the Sharia.
